July 21, 2017 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information and assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a recent burglary that occurred in the Stockman Community on two different occasions between May 25th and May 27th, 2017.

The suspect depicted in the photograph cut the locks on the Sheridan gas well gate and gained entry to a property in the Stockman Community. Once on the property, the suspect stole all the appliances from inside the unoccupied residence which included a washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and two portable air conditioners among other things. The suspect was captured by a motion sensor camera also carrying a chainsaw that was taken from the property.

April 21, 2017 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information in regards to a recent theft which occurred on April 20, 2017  at 96 Equipment located at 3536 Highway 7 West in Center.

Suspect(s) entered onto the complainant's property and stole a 2017 Polaris Ranger 570.

April 6, 2017 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information in regards to a recent theft which occurred on April 4, 2017 sometime between the hours of 1130am and 12pm at a residence located on Highway 147 in the McClelland Community.

Suspect(s) entered onto the victim's property and stole the following property: a 2005 Kawasaki Brute Force 750cc ATV, a Bad Boy 60" cut deck zero-turn lawn mower, and a 2010 BigTex 12 foot Utility Trailer with a fold down rear gate.

February 22, 2017 - Center Crime Stoppers is seeking information on the whereabouts of John Cody McDaniel, 34, of Center. McDaniel has active felony warrants for Burglary of a Habitation (F-2) and Burglary of a Building (F-4).

McDaniel is described as a white male, 6’0” tall, weighing 170 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He has tattoos on his arms and back.

Omeisha WilliamsFebruary 13, 2017 - Artesia Radway is no longer at large, she turned herself in to the Shelby County Jail on Friday morning, February 10, 2017.


February 8, 2017 - The discovery of prescription medication in a happy meal sparked a Center PD investigation at McDonalds in Center resulting in the arrest of two suspects.

A report was made to the Center Police Department on Wednesday, January 5, 2017 that a family had traveled through the drive through at the McDonalds located at 813 Hurst St Center Texas on January 4, 2017. 

The family purchased a Happy Meal for their 9-year-old. After they left the drive through window, two prescription Tramadol pills were found in their child’s Happy Meal. Through a month long investigation Detective Stephen Stroud located two suspects who are employees at that McDonalds. 

Detective Stroud did confirm that the two suspected parties 37-year-old Omeisha Williams and 25-Year-old Artshia Radway of Center were responsible for the Tramadol pills being placed into the happy meal. 

Artesia RadwayThe State Health Inspector was contacted and completed a Health inspection of the restaurant on January 31, 2017. On February 7, 2017 Judge Maxie Eaves issued Two Abandon/ Endanger a Child, Felony Two warrants. 

One warrant for Omeisha Williams’ arrest and one for Artshia Radway’s arrest. Williams was arrested on February 07, 2017 and Radway is still at large.

Detective Stroud would like the public to be aware of this incident and urge anyone with any information in regards to Radway’s location to call the Center Police Department.

February 7, 2017 - An unknown individual appearing to be a white male driver, entered the property of Wright, Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Center on February 6, 2017 at approximately 7:40pm.

The subject was driving a white 4-door Honda Civic. There the subject took several sets of wheel simulators off of the new vehicles, causing an estimated loss of over $5,000.

November 22, 2016 - Center Crime Stoppers is seeking information on the location of a Ladarren Antonio Reed. Reed is wanted for Credit Card/ Debit Card Abuse, Felony 3. Reed is described as a black male, 5'08" tall and weighing 160 lbs. Reed is 29 years of age.

August 10, 2016 - According to Constable Pct 3 Billy Hearnsberger, there was a business burglary last night at B & N Auto located at 11983 U.S. Hwy 84E in Joaquin, Texas. Multiple hand tools, electronics, lawn care equipment and cash were taken. Entry was made into the yard by cutting a large hole through the cyclone fence.

August 8, 2016 - Center Police Department is seeking information in regards to a theft that occurred at Ray Jones Chevrolet and Wright Dodge. 

Sometime between the hours of 5:00pm on Friday, August 5, 2016 and 9:00pm on Friday, August 5, 2016 unidentified suspect(s) entered the Ray Jones Chevrolet and Wright Dodge car lots. The unidentified suspects took two white tailgates from new trucks at Ray Jones Chevrolet and three sets of wheel simulators from Wright Dodge.  The Center Police Department Detective Division is asking for the public to be on the lookout for these thieves and report any information in regard to this case.

Maricela HernandezAugust 1, 2016 - Center Crime Stoppers is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying those involved in a crash incident which took the life of a pedestrian in Shelby County.

According to a press release issued by DPS, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers stationed in Shelby County responded to a fatal auto-pedestrian motor vehicle crash on July 28, at approximately 12 a.m. The vehicle striking the pedestrian fled the scene without notifying law enforcement, which is a felony crime. This motor vehicle crash occurred on State Highway 7, about 6 miles west of Center, Texas.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Marla Denby and has been identified as Maricela Hernandez, 29, from Houston, TX.

Details of this crash are limited. DPS can confirm that the vehicle involved in the crash struck the pedestrian and fled the scene without notifying a law enforcement agency. The driver and vehicle are being sought by State Troopers who are actively investigating this crime.

Texas DPS Troopers seek information about the driver, any passengers, and vehicle involved in this motor vehicle crash.

This is an ongoing investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
