Lady Rams Get Home Win Over Lady Bears

The Joaquin Rams Varsity Basketball Team took a 22-17 lead, into the halftime intermission, over the visiting Timpson Lady Bears, and extended it each quarter in route to taking a 47-34 win at home. The Lady Rams have now moved their District 22 2A mark to 4-2, and are 19-4 overall this season. The Lady Bears are 2-4 in conference play and have an 18-8 season standing.

Desere Cooper score six points in each, the second and fourth periods, to help the Lady Rams’ cause. Cooper had a team-high 18 points on the night. The Rams lead grew to 33-24 by the end of the third stanza. Hana Bonner scored 11 points for JHS, Erica Davis 8, Day’za Lane 6, Ana Rodrigues and Eboni Adams each had 2 points apiece.

Lady Bear Brylee Behrens scored 20 of her team’s 34 points in a hard fought effort. Other Lady Bears scoring were Ja’Karia Deckard with 5 points, Jasmine Rogers 4, Sara Duke 3, and Ashton Harris had 2 points.

The Lady Rams will travel to Tenaha next Tuesday, January 17 for a 6:30 p.m. tipoff with the 3-1 Lady Tigers.

The Lady Bears will tipoff at 7:30 p.m. at San Augustine on Tuesday, Jan. 17.
