Hallmark employees at the Center facility were approved for participation in the Star Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), which is OSHA’s premiere recognition program. A VPP flag was raised during a ceremony Oct. 27 attended by representatives from OSHA, the city of Center, and Hallmark.

During the extensive VPP audit process, the Center facility was particularly called out for best practices in involving employees in developing, implementing and sustaining a safe work environment.

“The Center facility is a role model for the rest of our company in its safety practices,” said David Hall, president – Hallmark Cards, at the recognition event. “These safety accomplishments are elevating everything this facility does, which in turn makes our entire company stronger.”

About 50 employees at the plant, located at 1010 Logansport St., manufacture Hallmark’s product display concepts found in retail stores. Hallmark has operated the plant in Center since 1960.
