Carolyn M. Austin, 86, of Apex, died on June 18, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gaston, County a daughter of the late Franklin B. McArver ad Margaret Knox McArver.
Carolyn was a member of Apex United Methodist Church. She received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Primary Education from Lenoir Ryne College. She taught Elementary Education in Hickory Public School Systems. She enjoyed spending time with her family and BINGO on Monday evenings.
Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Edward B. Austin in 2011.

Brother, Frank McArver and wife Linda of Austin, TX.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at Glenaire Retirement Community, 4000 Glenaire Cir, Cary, NC 27511.
A graveside service will be held 11:30 am Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Glenaire Retirement Community or to the Apex United Methodist Church.
