Friday night saw the Center Dixie League host the opening ceremony for several Dixie League Baseball Tournaments, including six Regional tournaments, and a State Machine Pitch tourney. The tournaments involve around sixty teams.
Opening ceremony festivities included recognition of each team by officials and the presentation of team gift bags. The event concluded with Center Dixie League President Jason Mitchell giving a speech and wishing the teams well. Mitchell told the teams, “This is what you have been waiting for…. a chance to compete, Good Luck!”
Tournament play will start Saturday and run through Monday night. Shelby County Today will give updates on the tournaments progress.
