Lady Bear News - The Timpson Lady Bears beat Gary last Friday night to stay undefeated in district. The Lady Bears lost the first two sets 20-25 and 22-25, but fought hard and came back to win the final three 25-11, 25-21, and 20-18. The Lady Bears are now 19-6 on the season and 5-0 in district. The Lady Bears have a bye today Sept. 26 and will finish the first round of District Friday in Shelbyville. Congrats Lady Bears!
The JH Lady Bear Volleyball team competed against San Augustine Monday night. The Gold team split sets with San Augustine and finished 1-1. The 7th grade Lady Bears beat San Augustine 2-0 and the 8th grade Lady Bears fell to San Augustine 2-1.
Next week’s JH Volleyball games will be in Leverett’s Chapel on Monday. There will only be two games with the 7th grade starting at 4:30 p.m. followed by the 8th grade team. Congrats and Good Luck Lady Bears!
FCCLA News - Car crashes kill more young people than any other cause, accounting for nearly half of all teen deaths in America each year. About 2,800 U.S. teens die each year in car crashes; that's the equivalent of a school bus loaded with teenagers crashing once every week for an entire year. Started in 2002, Teens in the Driver Seat is the first peer to peer program for teens that focuses solely on traffic safety and addresses all major risks for this age group. This program is sponsored by the Texas A & M Transportation Institute. Timpson FCCLA and the Family and Community Services Class would like to introduce the 2017-18 Teens in the Driver Seat team. Next Week, We Will...1) Learn about the letter C. 2) Learn about the number 1. 3) Read the book “Here We Go!” 4) Read “The Grasshopper and the Ants.” 5) Graph apples. 6) We will do an apple taste test.
Upcoming Events... 1) Fall Pictures September 29th. 2) Students need to be at school no later than 7:45. 3) Please send a green apple, red apple or yellow to school by Wednesday. We will be graphing apples and doing apple taste test.
Reminders to Parents... 1) School starts at 7:45 each morning. 2) The school day ends at 3:25. Parent pickup will go out at 3:15. 3) We are in need of box tops and soda tabs. 4) Also, if you have any soda bottle tops, please send those to school.
