November 21, 2017 Lufkin – Repair work is being planned in Nacogdoches County beginning next week and will continue through coming weeks.
Work is scheduled to begin on BU 59, at the intersection of US 59 and US 259 to allow for the repair of the concrete bridge rail on the northbound overpass that crosses US 59.
The inside lane of BU 59N will be closed to through traffic to US 259N. Motorists needing to access US 259 North will still be able to access the clover leaf onto US 259N. The work should be completed in about three weeks, weather permitting.
Motorists traveling the area should prepare for delays or choose alternate routes. This will be active TxDOT work zone with moving equipment and crews working near traffic. Fines double while workers are present. Motorists are advised to stay alert and obey all traffic control devices, flaggers and never cross between drums or cones.
