Keeping the Legacy Alive for Daniels High School (Day 2)

May 2, 2018 - Dr. Charles E. Tatum, a resident of Houston but originally from Center, Texas, a retired professor and author of many books and articles about Shelby County, is someone for Daniels High Alumni to be very proud of today. He was a musician and played for several church choirs while in good health. He loved to plant a variety of flowers and trees that bare fruit in his gardens. We give a big shout out to Dr. Charles.

His book, ‘Dew Drops on the Pine Needles’ in three volumes is about education in Shelby County which includes Center, Tenaha and other surrounding areas. There are a few volumes remaining to be purchased and you are highly encouraged to purchase them to get a good history of the Daniels School faculty, students, and other activities that occurred during the years of the school’s existence. The volumes are full of memories from former students.

Other past students and teachers will be spotlighted through the month of May.
