Jerry Williams, born August 9, 1940, in Lafayette, Louisiana, died on August 9, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family. He died after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia with Parkinsonism.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with visitation one hour prior. Mike Scrimpshire will officiate. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Mr. Williams was a loving husband and grandfather. He was a member of Reel Road Church of Christ in Longview.

He is survived by:
His wife of 60 years, Sue Smith Williams of Longview

Son, Jerry Williams Jr. of Mesquite

Daughter, Angelia Scrimpshire and husband Mike of Longview

Grandchildren: 
Mallory Williams and husband Dean of Tyler
Alyssa Best and husband Joel of College Station
Michaela Ruggiero and husband Antonio of McKinney

Great-grandchildren: 
Avery Williams of Tyler
Collier Williams of Tyler

Sister, Pearl Comeaux and husband Gerald of Coteau, Louisiana

Cousin, Mary Elizabeth Johnson of Beaumont

Numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews

Preceded in death by parents, Lewis H. “Sweet” Williams and Amanda Williams; birth mother, Lillian Laviolette; sister, Margaret Perry; brother, Earl Beers; aunt, Leo Rushing; and cousin, Margaret Ann Smith.

Pallbearers will be Leroy Armstrong, Roy Grogins, Pete Saccoccio, Dean Williams, Joel Best, and Antonio Ruggiero. Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Harrel and Allen Penick.
