TAGHS Welcomes Author of "A Hanging in Shelby County"

October 18, 2021 - Our own Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society member, Charles Johnson, will address our group Wednesday, Octobet 20, at 2pm in the annex back of Timpson Public Library.

The author of "A Hanging in Shelby County" a book with a historic viewpoint that is set in the Huber/New Prospect area, Mr. Johnson will share information about the book as well as assorted, interesting trivia about his family and our county.

Mr. Johnson is descended from Johnsons who were in this area by at least 1850. His father was the last of several Johnsons to live in Timpson. Mr. Johndon was educated at Angelina College and SFA. Following an eight year stint in the military, he pursued many types of employment prior to finally settling in retirement with his wife in Carthage.

We invite the public to join us as Mr. Johnson shares with us from his knowledge of the history of our town and county.
