DETEC Outage Update (12 noon)

Update 12 noon: Approximately 2,000 meters are without power currently due to high winds. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory until 6pm. Northwesterly winds between 20-30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected. Crews are assigned to all current outages and are working as quickly as possible.

Members served by our Oak Ridge Station (Woden area) may experience a lengthy outage as Oncor is working to replace two broken poles in the area. DETEC is unable to restore power until Oncor completes work. The included map images shows the area affected. DETEC is working closely with Oncor to make repairs.


January 12, 2024, 9am - Crews are working hard to restore power to approximately 3,300 meters. High winds are forecasted throughout the day. DETEC encourages everyone to keep safety a priority. Should you encounter a downed line, consider it live and dangerous.

For prompt service, please know the telephone number associated with your account and the meter number at the location. The meter number is the 6 digit number following DETEC on your meter or it can be located on your utility bill.
