June 25, 2024 - This past Saturday, members of VFW Post 8904, Center, Texas, visited with US Air Force Veteran Jack Wills, who will turn 95 next month. Mr. Wills served 21 years (both Army and Air Force) and retired in the grade of Master Sergeant (E-7). He spent a number of years in the Pacific and had some interesting stories and experiences. It was a wonderful visit.
In the second row behind Jack is his wife, Satchiko, who also answers to Miss Happy. Satchiko means happy child in Japanese. On the other side is Dylan Roberts, who attends many of our VFW functions with his parents. Back row (l-r) Merissa Ratcliff, who does home health care, and introduced us to Jack, Post Commander Mike Wulf, Jack’s daughter Gloria, Post Jr. Vice Derrick Roberts, and Post Quartermaster Mary Roberts.
