Jason Mitchell Announces Candidacy for Center ISD School Board (Pd Adv)

Dear Center ISD Community,

October 9, 2024 - My name is Jason Mitchell, and I am excited to announce that I am running for one of the three available 4-year terms on the Center ISD School Board. For 27 years, my wife, Cindy, and I have proudly called Center home. Our children, Jacob and Logan, both attended and graduated from Center schools, where they not only participated in the dual credit program, earning college hours, but were also active in the school’s athletic programs. Now, as a grandfather, my connection to Center ISD has grown even more. My grandson will begin Kindergarten here in the fall of 2025. Our family’s deep connection to the Center school system has inspired me to take this step in serving on the school board.

I believe the time is right to bring new leadership emphasizing Accountability, Transparency, and Equality. These values are at the heart of my run for the school board, and I am committed to making sure that every decision is transparent, responsible, and beneficial for every student, teacher, and parent in our district.

Throughout my years of service, I have had the privilege of serving on many boards, including the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Center Youth Baseball, and the Texas DYB Baseball State Board. Currently, I am one of four DYB Baseball National Directors representing the State of Texas. In 2012, I was honored to be named Shelby County’s Young Citizen of the Year in recognition of my dedication to our community.

If elected, I will work to ensure that the needs and concerns of all stakeholders—from the administration and teachers to the students and their families—are heard and addressed. I believe in fairness and equality for every person involved in our schools and will strive to make decisions that benefit the entire district.

My motto is Better Schools for a Better Tomorrow, and I am passionate about making that vision a reality. I would be honored to have your support, and I humbly ask for your vote. You can find me as number 9 on the November ballot.

Thank you for your time, and feel free to reach out with any questions or ideas.

Sincerely,
Jason Mitchell
