February 12, 2025 - Last Thursday, My Sister Myself, an 8th grade organization of Center Middle School, took their annual college tour to SFA where they were greeted with many fun and exciting activities. Dr. Sharon Rice, who was a teacher at Center Middle School for many years, but is now a Professor and Staff member with SFA arranged for and hosted the tour as she does every year. This year the girls had much more time to see and visit many more ventures.
They learned about admissions, scholarships and the Purple Promise program (if their household income is less than $100,000, SFA covers all course expenses for the entire time they attend).
They also got to tour the STEM building, the Recreation Center, the Library, Student Center and then had an opportunity to explore a dormitory room and see all the amenities offered to them.
It was a great day and they were exhausted from walking so much, but they now realize that if they want to go to college, it is within their reach as long as they work hard now. The possibilities for them are endless.
