February 14, 2025 - Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the governing body of the City of Timpson will be held on the 18th day of February, 2025 at 5:30 pm at Timpson City Hall, 456 Jacob Street, Timpson, Texas, at which time the following subjects will be considered, to-wit:
1. Call to Order
2. Invocation
3. Pledge: United States Pledge, Texas Pledge
4. Council Items: Reports by the members of the City Council on matters not on the agenda will be made at this time. A total, not to exceed 10 minutes will be devoted to these reports.
5. Timpson Chamber of Commerce: Update by Paul Smith on Timpson Frontier Days 2025
6. Citizens Input: This time is provided for members of the public to address the city Council on items that appear within the Consent and Action Items or a matter not listed on the agenda. Each speaker is limited to 3 minutes. A Citizens Input Form may be filled out and filed with the City Secretary prior to the meeting.

8. Consent Agenda: Items included under the Consent Agenda require little or no deliberation by the Council. Approval of the Consent Agenda authorizes the City Secretary to proceed with the conclusion of each item as reflected in the Minutes of this meeting.
A. Consider approval of Minutes from the Regular Meeting, January 21, 2025
B. Consider approval of Financial Statement for the month of January 2025
C. Consider approval of Accounts Payable for the month of February, 2025
D. Consider approval to pay Paula Mullins accumulated vacation hours outside the handbook policy due to the necessity of her being in the office during training of new hire. Hrs 93.71 which is 33.71 over the vaca policy.
E. Consider accepting the resignation of Council member, Ryan McDonald effective immediately. Letter of Resignation in packet. Council member moved out of city.
F. Consider emergency expenditure of $4700 out of Street Improvement account for rubber mats in order for maintenance equipment to work without damaging ROW or private property. (Matthew Owens)
G. Consider paying invoice for EMERGENCY repairs in the amount $14,900.00 to Duplichain Contractors – funds to be paid out of Water Sewer Acct (Quote in Packet)
REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS (9-19)
9. Discuss and take action: Consider approval for Kyle Edwards, E-5 Construction to secure electricians to complete the electrical portion of the Municipal Utility Bldg under construction. The amount was listed in his original bid at $8500.00 BUT WAS NOT part of his construction bid.
10. Discuss and take action: Consider approval to pay T-5 Construction an installment on the debris portion of the Storm Cleanup. FEMA has not paid at this time. Total Inv: $115,539.56 of which 25% has been paid leaving a balance of $86,654.69. This full amount has been submitted to FEMA and TDEM to be paid at 100%.
11. Discuss and take action: Consider hiring David Chandler to cut down and remove resulting debris for 4 large trees in the city ROW on Austin Str. Trees are large and present a danger due to limbs breaking and falling. (Bid in Packet)
12. Adjourn
The Council reserves the right to retire into executive session concerning any of the items listed on this agenda whenever it is considered necessary and is legally justified under the Open Meetings Act.
