Joaquin High School on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 –
Joaquin senior Dallon Jordan signed a letter of intent to play football with the Texas College Steers as he studies Nursing. Dallon will be joining his brother Gauge Jordan who also plays on the Steers football team as well.
The Texas College athletic teams are a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), primarily competing in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) for most of their sports since the 1998–99 academic year; while its football team competes in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC).
Joaquin Athletic Director Jared Jones led off Tuesdays activity by telling students, faculty, family, and others in attendance, “Dallon earned this opportunity by putting in the hard work needed day in and day out. He rushed for a thousand yards this year and had a hundred tackles this season. You have to be tough, you have to be persistent to reach these goals. As he pursues his educational goals at college he’s going to be equally persistent to get his degree and certifications.”
Jordan will major in nursing and stated he chose the school because, “Texas College is a quality school and I can join my brother, Gauge.” Jordan will be looked at to play linebacker with the Steers team.
Dallon, as a linebacker and runningback, was a big part of this years Joaquin Rams Football team that made it to the state semifinals this past season.
