March 25, 2025 - Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash that took place on a private property railway bridge, east of Joaquin, that occurred Sunday, March 23, 2025.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 8:50 p.m., a 2022 Polaris Ranger UTV driven by Joseph Warren, 41, of Logansport, La. was traveling west on the railway tracks, while a train was also traveling west on the railway tracks. It is reported that the Polaris attempted to exit the tracks but was unsuccessful and was struck by the train.
Warren was pronounced deceased on scene by the Justice of the Peace.
The conductor of the train and the one passenger were not injured.
