Whisk it Up – Cooking Camp - June 9 to June 13
June 2, 2025 - Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service - Shelby County will be hosting a 2 in 1 Cooking and sewing camps (beginner and advanced) in June in Center, Texas. This program is open to all youth ages 8 through 18, and you do not have to be a member of 4-H to participate.
Sew Frenzy (for all youth with or without experience using a sewing machine), will be held June 9th – June 13th from 9am– 12 noon for grades 3-12. Participants will learn how to use a sewing machine and will make a lap quilt to showcase in the upcoming Poultry Festival Creative Arts Show. The cost is $25 per child. Also please bring a beach towel for a take-home activity. Space is limited. Sewing machines and fabric for quilt fronts will be provided for the participants. Grandmothers, moms and other adults willing to help with re-threading and other small sewing tasks are encouraged to attend the classes with participants (sewing experience not required).
Whisk it Up Cooking Camp will be held June 9th – June 13th from 1pm – 4pm for grades 3-12. We will be making various culinary delights. Participants will have fun learning cooking skills, kitchen math, food safety, plating and watermelon carving. Cost is $25 per child and space is limited. All supplies and food will be provided.
Registration Deadline Friday, June 6th by 12 noon.
