August 25, 2025 - September 26, 2025, has been designated as Shelbyville ISD’s Lone Star Cup Day. The UIL Lone Star Cup is awarded annually to six high schools, one in each of the six UIL classifications (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A), based on their team performance in district and state championships. The winning school in each classification receives the UIL Lone Star Cup trophy and a $1,000 scholarship. Since its inception in 1998, less than 5% of all high schools in the state of Texas have managed to ever win the Lone Star Cup. Out of 226 high schools in Conference AA, Shelbyville High School prevailed as the 2025 Lone Star Cup Champion! On its epic journey to the first-ever Lone Star Cup Championship in school history, Shelbyville High School earned LSC points in the following team competitions: Military Marching Band (State Runner-up), Football (Regional Finalist), Volleyball (Regional Quarter Finalist), Cheer (State Finalist), Boys’ Basketball (Regional Finalist), Congress (STATE CHAMPION), Academics (STATE CHAMPION), Baseball (Regional Finalist), and Softball (Regional Finalist).
Shelbyville ISD is extremely proud of our students and staff district-wide who have contributed to this historic success! We want to invite our community to join us for a special “Lone Star Cup Day” as we celebrate this accomplishment. Activities will begin with a Pep Rally where representatives from UIL and Texas Farm Bureau will present Shelbyville ISD with a Lone Star Cup Championship banner, and local dignitaries and other special guests will be making presentations. Following the Pep Rally will be Tailgating in the Gym Parking Lot, and then a special presentation during pregame of the football game against Price Carlisle where Dr. Bradley Kent from the University Interscholastic League and a representative from Texas Farm Bureau will present Shelbyville High School with the 2025 Lone Star Cup Trophy and a special scholarship commemorating this historic achievement!

Texas Farm Bureau will provide hotdogs and chili dogs. Other businesses/individuals have offered to provide water, soft drinks, and cookies. Shelbyville Cheerleaders will be providing face painting. If you or your business would be interested in setting up for tailgating and offering food, drinks, activities for this special event, please complete the online form https://forms.gle/FNawGaTvuV4n3ncW8. We ask that all food, drinks, activities be provided free of charge. This will not be a fundraising event. Only approved tailgaters will be allowed to set up. The deadline for submitting a form will be Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
