Shelby County Welcomes UT Health Mobile Digital Mammography Unit
October 14, 2025 - The Shelby County Extension Office and the Health and Wellness Committee are pleased to announce the return of the UT Health Mobile Digital Mammography Unit in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The mobile unit will be located on the Downtown Square in Center, Texas, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 9am to 2pm.
The UT Health Mobile Digital Mammography Unit provides state-of-the-art digital mammography services, offering women a convenient way to prioritize their breast health. Breast cancer remains a significant public health concern, and early detection through regular screening can save lives. By bringing advanced screening technology directly to the community, the mobile unit helps eliminate barriers to care and ensures more women have access to these critical services.
Appointments can be scheduled by calling the Shelby County Extension Office at 936-598-7744 between Wednesday, October 15 and Friday, October 24, 2025. Screenings are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is encouraged.
