Bobbie Nutt, 94, of Center, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, in Center. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Bro. Porter Brewer will officiate. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Born September 14, 1931, in Henderson, Texas, Bobbie is the daughter of Jack Sistruck and Kate Reed Sistruck. Her father passed away at an early age, and Bobbie’s sister passed away at just two years old. This left only Bobbie and her mother, Kate. In her younger years, she enjoyed vegetable gardening. Bobbie graduated from Carthage High School and went on to further her education at Tyler Business school. She began her career as a secretary at Carthage ISD, where she worked for twelve years. She even worked at Perry Brothers for a time. On March 22, 1958, Bobbie married the love of her life, Charles Nutt. Soon after they were married, Charles bought the Dairy Queen, where Bobbie worked for over fifty years. The teenagers who would frequent Dairy Queen at that time loved her for her feisty personality. Bobbie never met a stranger, and she soon became an icon in Shelby County, building lasting friendships with people in the community. Always busy, Bobbie was a hard worker, never expecting her employees to do anything she wasn’t willing to do.

As new business owners, Charles and Bobbie brought two children into their lives- Charlotte Jean and Jerry Lynn. They completed her little family. Even though life was hectic, she made sure her children were involved in activities. Bobbie supported her children and was always involved with them. She had a big heart, was headstrong, and had a knack for sensing when something wasn’t right with her friends and family.

After her retirement, Bobbie enjoyed spending time with her Sunday school friends at First Baptist Church in Center, where she was a member of the Homemaking Group. Bobbie also loved her Senior Citizen Site friends and playing cards. Another one of her hobbies was crocheting and she did this until her sight began to fail her. Bobbie would always provide baby blankets to her friends with new babies.

Bobbie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, but they have peace in knowing that she is living an abundant life in Heaven.
