November 13, 2025 - I am proud to announce my candidacy in the Republican Party Primary Election for Shelby County Commissioner, Pct. 4.
My parents were Melvin "Lum" Edwards, and Barbara Jannelle Tyer Edwards. I'm a 1976 graduate of Timpson High School, and have lived my entire life in Timpson.
I believe my time spent as a long-time employee of Pct. 4 Roads & Bridge has prepared me to become the next county commissioner. In the 45 years with the precinct, I have spent the past 20 years as foreman, working for 7 commissioners. This has put me in a position to know the road and bridge systems throughout the northwest corner of the county, as the foreman when it came to the upkeep and maintenance, whether it be during storms or when the need arose. I have worked with each commissioner of Pct. 4 over the years closely when it came to not only roads, but county business.
