February 10, 2026 - Justice of the Peace. What is that? We've heard the term or title all our lives, but what does it mean? What is a Justice of the Peace? Let's start with the definitions of the words "justice" and "peace."
Justice: fairness, moral rightness, ensuring people are treated impartially, equally, and receive what they are due. Promoting the well-being of all.
Peace: a state of quiet or tranquility, harmony, no fighting, no fear, no anxiety. Deep calm, free from disturbance, balance, and wholeness.
My name is Marla Denby, and I have been your Justice of the Peace for almost 12 years. I am currently finishing my third term, and I am seeking reelection for a fourth term. I appreciate and sincerely value the trust and confidence you have placed in me. Now, I humbly ask for your vote in the March primary. Early voting starts February 17 and ends February 27. Election day is March 3rd.
I love that Justice is represented by a blindfolded woman (impartiality) holding a scale (balance) and a sword (enforcement). I also love that Justice came from the Latin word "Justus," meaning "Just Us." Because sometimes it is just that. Much love!
