Charles “Bill” Kay, 93, of Shelbyville, Texas, passed away on September 24, 2026, in Huxley, Texas. He was born on November 27, 1932, in Shelby County, to the late Homer Kay and Ruby (Bounds) Kay.
Bill graduated from Strong High School. He later married the love of his life, LaJuan Still, and together they shared more than 56 years of marriage before her passing. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, family, and countless memories. They traveled America together in their camper, enjoying the beauty of new places and, most importantly, each other’s company. Together, they raised two children and built a family that meant everything to Bill.
He worked as a machinist until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and treasured the time he spent doing the things he loved with those closest to him. But above all, Bill was a family man. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather and great-grandfather.
Bill was the kind of man his family could always count on. He loved deeply, gave generously, and took great pride in his family. He was a wonderful example of what it means to love and care for those around you, and the lessons he taught through the way he lived his life will continue through generations. His family will forever cherish the memories they made with him and hold close the love he gave so freely. Bill was truly a great man, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, LaJuan Kay; parents, Homer and Ruby Kay; daughter, Lisa Kay; and Bills six sisters.
Per Bills wishes, there will be no services at this time, a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
