Betty Ann McPhearson

03/11/2025

Betty Ann McPhearson, 87, a devoted wife, mother, and cherished Memaw, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025.

Funeral: 9:00 AM Thursday in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Betty Ann was born January 26, 1938, in Coal City, Alabama to the late Earcy Barber and Lucille Olds Fedrick. She was a woman of boundless love, kindness, and unwavering faith, whose greatest joy was found in her family and the beauty of the world around her.

A true nurturer at heart, Betty Ann found peace and happiness in her garden, where she spent countless hours tending to her flowers, pulling weeds, and making sure every plant had the care it needed to flourish—just as she did with the people in her life. Her yard was always a place of beauty, a reflection of her own gentle and loving spirit.

As a mother, she had unconditional love for each child. Above all, she adored her kids but as the grandkids came along, they were her pride and joy. When the great grandkids came, she had a great love for them also. As a Memaw, she had the remarkable gift of making each grandchild feel like they were her favorite—because to her, they truly were. Her hugs were warm, her laughter was contagious, and her love was endless.

She treasured the friendships she built over the years, always making time to share laughter, lend a helping hand, or simply sit and enjoy the company of those she held dear. Whether through a phone call or a visit on the porch, she made sure her friends knew how much they were loved. She was also a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.
