Billy Wayne Andrews, lovingly known to everyone as Pete and to his closest family and friends as Peter Rabbit, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, in Longview, Texas, at 3:40 AM surrounded by his loving wife of 45 years, his two daughters, and some of his closest family members. He was 73 years old.
Pete was born on May 23, 1952, in Center, Texas, to Talvis and Mavis Bernice Andrews. He spent his life devoted to his family, his work, and his community. Recently retired, Pete worked for many years at the Timpson and Garrison Housing Authority, where he was known for his hard work, dedication, and quiet kindness. In his younger years he worked in carpentry and drove truck #6 for Shelby LP Gas.
Pete was a man of simple pleasures. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, riding his tractor, and taking backroad drives. He treasured every moment spent with his wife Beth and their two daughters, Dana Shae and Kylie Jo as well as his beloved pets Jethro and Gomer Girl. Whether he was volunteering with the local fire department where he served as Fire Chief for many years, lending a hand to someone in need, or just sitting and visiting with family, Pete was always ready with a laugh, a story, or a smile. His sense of humor, generous spirit, and steady presence will be missed deeply by everyone who knew and loved him.
