James Alan “Bubba” Scott, 56, of Timpson, Texas, passed away on August 2, 2026, at his home. He was born in Center, Texas on August 25, 1969 to Robert Joe and Margaret Ann (Frederick) Scott of Timpson, Texas. He was a Timpson Bear graduate, Class of 1988, where he was a member of the FFA. He was also a proud member of Timpson Volunteer Ambulance Service.
Visitation will be from 10 am – 12 noon and the funeral service will begin at 12 noon on Saturday, August 8th, 2026 at First Baptist Church with W. Dee Daniel and Steve Ewton officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church.
On December 12, 2020, Bubba married the love of his life, Annette Epps Scott after initially meeting through his sister, Shirley, when he was 10 years old and Annette was 17 years old. He reconnected with Annette in 2019 after she had moved back to Timpson.
Bubba proudly worked for Nix Forest Industries for over 38 years! His favorite job out there was working the stacker. Everyone was amazed at how he worked it without even looking at the buttons he was pushing. It was like second nature to him!
After being a member of Good Hope Baptist Church of Blair for many years, he joined First Baptist Church of Timpson with his wife. He was a devoted Christian and well-loved by his church family. He was also known for giving the best hugs ever!
