Jerry Earl Handy, 74, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born on February 17, 1951 to the late Joe Handy and Azzie Garner Handy in San Augustine, TX
Visitation is from 10am until 6pm Friday, October 24, 2025 at Community Funeral Home Chapel in Center. Funeral service is 2pm Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Bright Morning Star Baptist Church, 623 MLK Drive, Center, Texas with Pastor Anthony Jackson as Pastor and Eulogist. Interment is at St. Luke Cemetery.
Jerry was raised in the St. Luke Community by his aunt and uncle, the late I. V. and Viola Handy. He was a member of Lincoln High School, San Augustine, Texas, class of 1969.
Later, Jerry moved to Houston and then made his way back home to San Augustine with his uncle and aunt, the late Reverend Clovis Rodgers and Aunt Siscile Rodger. Afterwards, Jerry moved to Center, Texas where he currently resided. He retired from Tyson Foods after 35 years of service. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Stafford Edwards and Kimberly Edwards of Alabama; Grandkids: Sierra Edwards, E'Lisa Edwards, Heaven Green, Blossom Green, Kween Evans, and Kyng Evans. Tamika Sophus and Lonnie Eastwood of Houston. Jerry E. Edwards Sr. of Houston; Grandkids: Jerry Earl Edwards Jr. and MiAngel Diana Edwards; Special friend: Irene Smith. Two Bonus sons: Jerome Ratcliff and Melton Garrett.
