"LE" Elbert Horton, age 59, departed this life on November 30, 2024 in St. Luke Hospital, the Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Elbert Horton Jr. was born November 10, 1965 to the late Elbert Horton Sr. and Cora Lee Shepard Horton in Center, Texas.
Visitation is 10am until 6pm Friday, December 6, 2024 at Community Funeral Home Chapel in Center.
Funeral service is 11am Saturday, December 07, 2024 at Mount Gillion Baptist Church, 5545 State Highway 87 N, Center, Texas 75935 with Pastor Rayford Caraway, Eulogist; Bishop William Nash, Words of Comfort; and Pastor Lynn Morris, Officiating. Interment is at Mt. Gillion Cemetery.
Elbert grew up as a member of Mt. Gillion Baptist Church under the Pastoral Leadership of Pastor R. L. Cotton. In his later years, he became a member of The House of Refuge, Center, Texas under the Pastoral Leadership of Bishop William E. Nash. He attended Center ISD, Center, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Horton Sr. and Cora Lee Shepard Horton; brothers, Roy Horton, Major Horton, Alford Horton, Larry Horton, and Willie Horton; and sisters, Alice Ruth Harris, Annie Ruth Jones, Dorthy Johnson, Barbara Thomas, Essie Horton, and Beverly Bell.
