Lerlene Raines, 79, of Timpson, Texas, passed away on November 22, 2021, in Lufkin, Texas. She was born on October 24, 1942, in Caledonia, Texas to the late John Henry and Dolly (Durrett) Raines. Graveside will be 2:00 pm, Monday, November 29, 2021, at County Line Cemetery.
Lerlene grew up in Caledonia and worked hard alongside her siblings. After high school she attended Massey Business School, learning secretarial skills and became very efficient in shorthand, which she later used in many years of employment at Moore Business Forms, where she made many life-long friends.
Lerlene loved her mother dearly and devoted her life to making Mrs. Dolly happy. Lerlene enjoyed gardening and had many beautiful plants and flowers. She even tried her had at grafting fruit trees. Lerlene loved all her nieces and nephews as her own and did so much for them. She never failed to make them feel special and loved. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
