Marjorie Beck Campbell, 95, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006. She was born June 10, 1911 in Shelbyville to Walter B. Beck and Carrie Helpinstill Campbell. Ms. Campbell was a retired teacher from the Shelbyville ISD and was a member of Shelbyville First United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Shelbyville Cemetery with Rev. Carla Reed officiating.

Pallbearers will be James I. Powell, Jack Bradberry, Frank Crawford, John Howard, Greg Powell, Tim Powell, S.W. Carter & Tom Sterling.

Survivors include:

James C. Bridges, 81, of Center, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006 at his home. He was born December 19, 1924 in Center to Charlie Bridges and Liddy Loving Bridges. Mr. Bridges was the owner of Bridges Truck Parts for 50 years. He served in the US Navy during WWII from 1940-1944.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Frankie May Coppedge - 85, of Center passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2006 in Center. She was born July 30, 1921 in Swink, Oklahoma to John Adams and Frankie Maye Holt Adams. Ms Coppedge was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Women of Worth and the Center Pentecostal Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday, September 1, 2006 at the Center United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Steve Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Ore City Cemetery in Ore City, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Paul Luman, A.J. Marcell, Wallace Wilkins, Raymond Caldas, Charles Baldwin, Jason Zeditz, Mark Zeditz and Mike Zeditz.

Survivors Include: Daughters: Marily Zeditz and husband James of Houston, Linda Baldwin and husband Charles of Henderson and Rose Addison and husband Bobby of Center.

Eight Grandchildren, Twenty - Two Great Grandchildren, One Great-Great Grandchild.

Billie Lovell, age 79, passed away August 28, 2006 at Park Plaza Specialty Hospital in Houston, Tx. Graveside services are 2 pm Friday, September 1, 2006 at Rather Cemetery in Shelbyville with Bro. Ronnie Wheeler officiating. No visitation is planned. She was born on August 29, 1926 in Electra, Tx. to Uless and Ollie (Nichols) Fisher. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Lovell and daughter Terry Lynn McWilliams.

She is survived by Brothers: Doyle Fisher and Kenneth Fisher of California, Daughter: Wanda Cleaver and husband Thomas in Houston, Tx. Sons: Rick McWilliams and wife Iris of Ohio and Mike McWilliams and wife Vikka of Ohio. Granddaughters: Billie Dickinson and husband Jamie of Humble, Michelle Bracey of Ohio, and Laura McWilliams of Ohio. Grandsons: David Cleaver and wife Keili of Dallas, Tx. Doctor James Hoffpauir - Funeral services for 58 year old, Doctor James Hoffpauir, of Cotter, Arkansas, will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock, at Mountain Home Baptist Church. Visitation will be tomorrow (Tuesday) evening from six until eight o’clock, at Mountain Home Baptist Church. Doctor Hoffpauir was pastor of Mountain Home Baptist Church since 1995, and before that he had pastured at several churches including First Baptist Church in Timpson.

Jack Fountain, 80, passed away Friday, August 25, 2006 at his home in Center. Services will be held Monday, August 28, 2006 at 11 am at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pat Windham and Bro. Jason Hebert officiating, burial will follow at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, August 27, 2006 starting at 10 am and continue until service time.

He was born on January 17, 1926 to Robert Elvin and Lela Ann Langford Fountain. For many years he was a building contractor and he was a operator for Sand Hill Water Supply for the last 20 years. He was a member of White Rock Missionary Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elvin & Lela Fountain, on son Homer Fountain Jr., one sister Doris Roberts, one brother Floyd E. "Buster" Fountain and one daughter in law Jana Fountain.

He is survived by:

Bill Reed, 72 of Arcadia Community, passed away Friday, August 25, 2006 in Nacogdoches. He was born October 6, 1933 in Nashville, Tennessee to William A. Reed I and Mary Gibson. Mr Reed served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a rancher.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Watson and Sons Chapel in Center, with Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Shelby County.

Pallbearers will be Craig Welch, Brian Welch, Danny Lovell, John Sork, Mike Sork, Rick Sork, Erik Perry and Darrell Yates.

Bonnie Lawson Moore - 74, of Center, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2006. She was born August 27, 1931 in Center to Dewey Lawson & Avis Bush Lawson. Mrs. Moore was a member of the First Baptist Church of Center and was retired from Shelbyville ISD.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Center with Rev. Carl Smith and Rev. Michael Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Iris McSwain - 86, of Center, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2006. She was born October 16, 1919 in Center to John B. Lowery and Willie Jones Lowery. Ms McSwain was a homemaker and Christian mother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Center.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Monday, August 21, 2006 at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center with Bro. Mike Cross officiating.

Michael Edward Linebarger - Taylor Funeral Home announces the passing of 64 year old, Michael Edward Linebarger, of Timpson. A memorial service will be held at a later date, and the body will be cremated.

Winnie Mae Risinger , 83 of Orange passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at Baptist Senior Center in Beaumont.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 18, 2006 at St. Francis of Assissi Church in Orange. Officiating will be Father Tom Phelan.

A graveside service will be at 4:30 pm, Friday at East Hamilton Cemetery in Patroon.

Visitation will be from 5-9 pm Wednesday and Thursday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. A wake will be at 7 pm, Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Risinger was born June 8, 1923, in Gueydan, Louisiana, to Edwin and Telesia (Breaux) Richard. She was a caring and loving 2nd grade teacher at Little Cypress Elementary School for about 20 years and made a difference in her student's lives. She loved to sew, crochet, quilt and teach. She also loved to cook and garden.

She was a member of TSTA, St. Frances Eucharistic Ministry as well as a Lector, member of the Alter Society and the Sacred Heart Society.

Mrs. Risinger was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Gabriel Mott, second husband, Nath Risinger, sons, Wayne and Eugene Mott and daughter, Winifred Ann Mott.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Mary Theresa and Mark Couvillion of Kingwood, step son and wife, James Ray and Mary Kay Risinger of Patroon, grandchildren, Andra and Melissa Couvillion of Kingwood. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Ashton and Sean Couvillion.

Services are under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home, Orange, Texas.

Geraldine Fields Maguire, 83, of Port Arthur, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at a Port Arthur hospital. She was born August 14, 1923 in the Patroon Community of Shelby County, Texas to John Samuel Fields and Myrtle Crow Fields.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 11, 2006 at Patroon Cemetery with Tim Perkins officiating.

Betty M. Greenwood, 63, of Brandon, Mississippi passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at a Jackson, Mississippi hospital. Ms. Greenwood was born in Center to Charles Greenwood of Mississippi and Doris L. Greenwood of Center. Mr. Greenwood was serving with the US Navy during WWII when his daughter was born. After the war, the family returned to Mississippi where they made their home.

Ms. Greenwood attended Mississippi public schools, where she graduated in 1961. Upon high school graduation, she attended the University of Southern Mississippi for several years. After college, she moved to the Jackson, Mississippi area where she has resided for the past forty-three years. She worked for Kirkland Homes as a bookkeeper.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 10, 2006 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Pearl, Mississippi. Interment will follow Friday, August 11, 2006 at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Her survivors include her dear friend and companion of many years, Jerry Bowles, her aunts Gladys L. Stavroplos of Center and Lennie Greenwood of Port Neches, several first cousins, many second and third cousins and numerous beloved friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, eight aunts, three uncles and several cousins on both sides of her family.

Memorials may be made to Briarwood United Methodist Church, 320 Briarwood Dr., Jackson, Mississippi, 39206 or Baptist Health Systems Oncology Dept. 1225 N. State St., Jackson, Mississippi 39202.

Erma Paige, 89, of Center, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2006. She was born December 2, 1916 in Center, Texas to Thomas Buford Askew and Lola Hagler Askew. Ms. Paige was a member of Hurst Street Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Watson and Sons Chapel with Bro. Joe Wrape officiating. Interment to follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.

William R.E. Stevens
