Interment will be in Saint Luke Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from noon until seven p.m. at Garner Mortuary Chapel. Among Mrs. Davis’ survivors are one son, Roy C. Graveside services for 97 year old, Lela Parker, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, will be held Monday morning at 11 o’clock, at Oakland Memorial Park Cemetery. Among Ms. Parker’s survivors are a daughter, Marjorie Culver, of Oklahoma, a son, Billy Rae Parker, of Georgia, and a brother, Hoy McMahon, of Center.

Alton Dickerson
Funeral services for 68 year old, Alton Dickerson, of Joaquin, were held Tuesday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport. Interment was in Brookland Cemetery.

Among Mr. Dickerson’s survivors are two sisters, Lucy McGee and Annie Ruth Stephens, and two brothers, Jack and Wayne Dickerson.

Irene Largent, 90, of Center, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2006. She was born January 27, 1916 in Center, Texas to George Hughes and Nancy Biggers Hughes. Ms. Largent was of Methodist faith. Funeral services for Marjorie Evelyn Johnson, 76, of Jasper will be 11 am Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper. Burial will be 2 pm, Tuesday, February 21, at Mt. Herman Cemetery near Center. Visitation will be 6 pm to 8 pm Monday, February 20, 2006 at the funeral home. Mrs. Johnson died February 17, 2006 at her home in Jasper. A native of Iota, Louisiana she was a former resident of Groves and had lived in Jasper since 1980. She was a member of the Jasper Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of The Republic of Texas and also a member of the Texas Historical Commission. Survivors include her husband J. Marie Robinson age 73, passed away Friday, February 17, 2006. She was born September 6, 1932 in Center, Texas to K.E. Walker and Maurine Humphries Walker. James Ellis Pate
James Ellis Pate, 82, of Huxley passed away Thursday, February 16, 2006 in Center. Mr. Pate was born February 10, 1924 in Dry Creek, Louisiana to J.E. Pate Sr. and Euginia Cole Pate. He served in the US Army during World War II and was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Pate retired from Texaco after 36 years as a production supervisor. He was a member of Lydia Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 4 pm Sunday, February 19, 2006 at Watson & Sons Chapel in Center, Texas with Rev. Gordon Vaughn officiating. Zelma was born July 17, 1917 in Center, Texas and she entered into rest Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Center.

She is preceded in death by husband, John Neal Lacy, Parents, William James and Camilla Ida Tyler Palmer and Brother, Johnny Lee Palmer.

Mrs. Williams retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1984, where she had been a repair clerk for 35 years. She was a member of Sardis Methodist Church.
