Percy Howard Ratcliff

Percy Howard Ratcliff, a veteran of the Vietnam War and long-time resident of East Liberty, passed away on January 30, 2026. Percy, as he was known in the area, was born February 03, 1950 to Wilson and Verna Joy Ratcliff.

Visitation is from 1pm until 6pm on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Community Funeral Home Chapel in Center. Funeral service is at 11am on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at East Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, 2980 CR 2569, Center, Texas 75935 with Pastor Steven Standley officiating and eulogist.

Percy graduated from East Liberty High School. After high School, he was drafted into the U. S. Army on July 24, 1969.

Percy saw many military actions in Vietnam during his time of service. His tour of duty ended on July 24, 1971.

Percy accepted Christ late in life. He was recently baptized by Reverend Standley and became a member of East Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. Although he had not joined the church until late in life Percy knew the Bible.

Perey was a people person and enjoyed talking to his friends and playing dominos.

Percy was preceded in death by his parents: Wilson and Verna Joy, and one sibling: Willie George.

He is survived by:

Brother, Willie Glenn Ratcliff (Shirley)

Sister, Carolyn Kay Mosley (Jackie)

Nine nieces and nephews

Along with a host of family and friends.
