Robert Louis Sanford, Jr., 74, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, at Quality Center Rehabilitation following a brief illness.
Robert honorably served his country in the United States Army before dedicating his professional life to Holly Farms and Tyson Foods. He was a devoted and hardworking man who deeply valued his family, loyalty, and the simple joys of life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Misty Dawn Sanford Parker; his parents, Robert Louis Sanford, Sr. and Jewell Sanford; his brothers, Mikel Sanford and W.C. Sanford; and his sister, Ada Rasberry.
He is lovingly survived by:

Robert’s life was further enriched by the meaningful presence of Suzan Sanford, Donna Sanford, and Terrie Dyer Stone, each of whom held a special place in his heart and remained an important part of his life’s journey.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held. His ashes will be scattered on a lake in Texas, where he spent his childhood and created many of his most cherished memories.
He will be remembered with love and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Services are under the direction of Hillcrest Funeral Home, Shelbyville, TN.
