Rodney Earl Ramsey, 71, of Joaquin, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
Rodney was born in Jacinto City, Texas, on November 22, 1954, to Billy Gene Ramsey and Mildred Bonner Ramsey.
Rodney is survived by:
Wife of 39 years, Regina Ramsey
Sons:
Kolton Ramsey
Dustin Ramsey and wife Ashley
Grandsons, Kason and Dio
Sister, Alma Gene Ramsey Sheffield
Special cousin, Randy Bonner
A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Gene Ramsey and Mildred Bonner Ramsey, and his brother, Billy Paul Ramsey.
Rodney retired from International Paper in Mansfield. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He excelled as a pitcher and was highly sought after by baseball scouts during his youth. Though reserved by nature, Rodney had a playful sense of humor and loved pulling pranks on the kids.
Rodney will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
