Thelma Ann Smith, 72 of Center, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025, at her residence in Center.
In honoring Thelma’s wishes, she will be cremated and remembered with love, joy, and peace.
Born August 28, 1952, in Center, Thelma is the daughter of Elvin Moore and Ethel Webster Moore. Thelma was a radiant light in the lives of everyone who knew her-always smiling, always giving, and always anchored in faith. She loved her family with all her heart especially cherished time with her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and laughter.
A devoted teacher with a true gift for reaching young minds and hearts, Thelma spent her life inspiring children both inside and outside the classroom. She had a unique ability to connect with every child she taught. For her, teaching was not just a job-it was a calling. Her presence was a true blessing, and her memory will remain a guiding light for all who knew her.

Sister-in-law, Linda Blackmon and husband Welton of Shelbyville
Numerous other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elvin Moore and Ethel Webster Moore; brothers, Bill Moore and John Moore; and nephew, Derek Murry.
