Verlon Dale Freeman, 91, of Center, TX, passed away Friday, May 2, 2025, in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center, TX, with visitation beginning at 1pm Paston Quinn Hill will officiate. Interment will follow at Joaquin Cemetery in Joaquin, Texas.
Born September 12, 1933, in Joaquin, TX, Verlon is the son of Larnell Lee Freeman and Britt Annie Nunley. He was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University. Retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, Verlon served in the United States Army Reserves and was also a veteran of the Korean War. He loved teaching and coaching in Joaquin, TX, and DeSoto Parish, LA. He enjoyed watching any and all football, especially his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.
