Born March 21, 1952, in Shelby County, Walton is the son of J.T. Risinger and Blanch Phillips Risinger. He was a proud graduate of Mauriceville High School and later attended Lamar College. After working in refineries in the Beaumont area, he returned home to Shelby County in 1983, where he spent ten years at the City of Center and the next twenty years serving Shelby County in Precinct 3 until his retirement.
Outside work, he found his greatest joy in family and being outdoors. He loved team roping, fishing with his grandchildren, and passing along his skills by teaching young kids how to rope. He rarely missed a chance to cheer from the stands at his grandchildren’s sporting events, always their biggest supporter.
