The Shelby County Bass Anglers held the year end championship last weekend with nineteen teams qualifying to fish for the prestigious title. The championship is a two day event with day one being held on Sam Rayburn and day two on Toledo Bend. This event will wrap up the year and thanks to all the sponsors, members, and donors, it has been the most successful year in the history of the club.

On day one, the “Big Deal” team of Jacob Permenter and Cody Barton smashed a gigantic limit of Rayburn bass weighing 28.29lbs, giving the duo bragging rights after the weigh in. Rounding out the top three were the 2015 Anglers of the Year, John Olive and Jason Wells, with a limit tipping the scales at 22.12lbs. David Koonce and Brandon Wells had the overall big bass of day one with a 8.65lb lunker bass.

Day two brought different conditions as a cool front brought north winds and slowed the bite down considerably. John Olive and Jason Wells managed to cull out a limit weighing 15.37lbs to add to their day one weight. Chris and Andre Cartwright increased their two day total with another nice sack of bass weighing 13.03lbs followed by the team Marcus Cartwright and Tommy Land’s 12.75lb limit. Jacob Permenter and Cody Barton brought in the overall day two big bass of 6.34lbs.
