Angelina/Sabine RX Burn "Patroon RX Burn Block A & B" 1,986 acres

March 12, 2021 - Officials with the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas, Sabine National Forest, have advised a prescribed burn involving approximately 1,986 acres located, in the Patroon/Goober Hill and Dreka area. The winds are predicted from the South all day and tonight, and long range drift may affect some of the areas.

February 23, 2017 - Officials with the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas, Sabine National Forest, have advised a prescribed burn located in Compartment 30,37-41, 4,943 acres.

May 4, 2016 - In March, the community and residents of Deweyville suffered greatly due to the heavy flooding. The elementary school, in particular, was heavily damaged and the students were unable to return to school for several weeks after the water receded.

April 4, 2016 - Officials with the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas, Sabine  National Forest, have advised a prescribed burn located in Compartments 42, 43, 44 & 48, (Block A, B & C) 2,603 acres (Ragtown Area).   Winds are predicted from the South and Southwest to  7 mph, gusting to 9 mph.
