Panola Rodeo Team wins the Sam Houston State University Rodeo

November 16, 2020 - The Panola College Men's Rodeo Team won the Sam Houston State University Rodeo this weekend in Conroe, TX. The Panola Team was followed in rank by Hill College, Sam Houston State, Texas A&M-Commerce, Southwest Texas JC, Wharton, Texas A&M, McNeese State, Trinity Valley CC, and Northeast Texas CC. The win also stretched their lead as they remained on top of the Southern Region and ended the college circuit for the fall semester. 

Panola College Summer Drum Major Camp

June 19, 2019 - The Summer camps keep rolling at Panola College this summer as they host the Drum Major Camp this week! This specialty camp offers expert instruction for high school drum majors from all over East Texas. "We have 32 drum majors from 18 schools. 27 high school and 5 junior high. 3 UIL Regions are represented, Regions 4, 22, & 10. Students as far south as Nederland, north to DeKalb, and west as Jacksonville are represented.

Panola College Rodeo Team Performs

October 6, 2016 - The Panola College Rodeo will be traveling to Uvalde for the Southwest Texas Jr. College Rodeo this Friday and Saturday.  After a 2nd and 3rd place finish for the Men/Women teams at our on Rodeo two weeks ago the Panola Team is ready to get going again.  

The women's team was led by Taylor Gooch who won the goats tying at the Panola Rodeo with an incredible 6.6 sec. run.  

Panola Freshman Shortstop NJCAA Player of the Week

February 11, 2016 - Panola College congratulates baseball player Chandler Morris (#3) for being selected by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as the player of the week which was announced earlier today, February 11th. Chandler is a freshman shortstop from The Woodlands, TX.

Panola College Hires New Men’s Basketball Coach

April 14, 2015 - Monday morning, Panola College hired Grant McMillan as its new Men’s Head Basketball Coach. McMillan comes to Panola from Northwest Florida State College where the Raiders just won the 2015 NJCAA National Basketball Championship. Prior to Northwest Florida, Coach McMillan has been at Independence Community College, Howard College, TCU, and Texas A&M. He has a bachelors from Texas Christian University and earned his Masters Degree from Texas A&M University.

Panola College's Denny is the #1 Bareback Rider in the Nation

March 3, 2015 - Wyatt Denny, of Minden, NV, is setting the bar high for the bareback riders in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. Currently, Wyatt is ranked #1 in the nation and leading the Southern Region by 369 points.

This past weekend at the Texas A&M - Kingsville Rodeo he made two outstanding rides to win the rodeo. This was the 7th of the 10 rodeos for the college circuit in the Southern Region. His sights are set on qualifying for the National Finals in Casper, Wyoming on June 14-20. The top three in each event will qualify for the CNFR.
