December 1, 2021 – The School of Theatre at Stephen F. Austin State University was honored by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival with numerous awards and nominations for the school’s fall semester plays “Bootycandy” and “Ajax in Iraq.”
August 20, 2021 – The Music Preparatory Division of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music will host its annual Middle School Choir Camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, in Wright Music Building on the SFA campus, according to Alba Madrid, Music Prep director.
November 24, 2015 - The Cole Art Center at The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches will be open during a portion of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, gallery officials have announced.
Cole Art Center will be open Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 24 and 25, closed Thanksgiving Day and Friday, Nov. 26 and 27, and open Saturday, Nov. 28, for the downtown Wassail Fest and Main Street’s holiday lighting contest.
September 4, 2015 - NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and Friends of the Visual Arts have announced that Julie McSwain, who graduated from Center High School this past May, is this year’s recipient of the East Texas Regional High School Art Scholarship.
August 26, 2015 - Stephen F. Austin State University’ Music Preparatory Division has announced the formation of the SFA Choristers to be directed by Carolyn Andrews.
Formerly the SFA Children’s Choir, the Choristers will be comprised of students in 5th through 8th grades. Rehearsals will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays beginning September 8th in Room 170 (orchestra room) in the Tom and Peggy Wright Music Building.
July 28, 2015 - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and the Friends of the Visual Arts will present a free, one-night screening of “Scrap” at 7 p.m. Friday, August 7, in The Cole Art Center at The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches.
