To the People of Shelby County and Area Churches:

October 20, 2020 - On behalf of the entire Bonner family of Joaquin, we would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation for the prayers lifted up during our recent bouts with the Covid-19 virus. It is truly a blessing to live among such caring and sincere people. We believe those prayers for healing were answered as those family members are doing better and on the mend. What a testament to the power of prayer and to the power of Almighty God! What an awesome God we serve. God is good!

October 13, 2020 - A new member ribbon cutting was hosted at C&J A/C and Electrical on Tuesday, October 13th to welcome them as the newest members of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce.

Owners Carl Jernigan and his wife Vicki were welcomed by Ambassador President Stephanie Elswick who spoke on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, "We are here to welcome C&J A/C to our business community in Center. They have been a part of Tenaha's community for 30 years, I believe, and we are very happy to have them here."

Carl Jernigan thanked everyone who attended the ribbon cutting and thanked them for their support, "We appreciate everything about Shelby County so far; its been actually a blessing to work out of Shelby County. The move to Center was, a couple of motivations behind it, of course Center's the hub of Shelby County and its an ideal location to operate out of." Jernigan gave the second reason being the next generation which are the future of the business, "I don't see myself retiring any time soon, but I see myself slowing down a little bit and I'm relinquishing more and more power and authority and control to the next generation because they are on top of what the generations are expecting and what they want. Fortunately, I'm really confident in doing that because over the past several years they've definitely shown they have the attitude and the drive and the will to give customers exactly what I've always wanted to give customers and that's the best job you can give them, the satisfaction of a job well done and honesty and fairness."

The next generation of C&J A/C mentioned by Carl Jernigan are Joshua Jernigan, Lauren Jernigan Smith and her husband Sean Smith.

October 8, 2020 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries will be closed on Monday, October 12th in observance of Columbus Day. Food boxes will be available on Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 2pm. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause you. We hope you have a blessed holiday.

October 4, 2020 (Photos coming soon) - A fun fan favorite of the East Texas Poultry Festival is the Strut, Cluck, and Crow Chicken Clucking Contest which was held Saturday, October 3rd with a large crowd attending. Youngsters of all ages took to the stage competing for Chicken Clucking bragging rights.
