December 20, 2022 - Members of First United Methodist Church of Center wish to express our gratitude to XI Alpha Delta Rho Sorority for their quiet generous donation to Lucretia’s Christmas Wish program that provided 125 students from Shelby County schools a way to choose a gift for their Mom and Dad. It was the idea of beloved FUMC member and public school teacher Lucretia Bussey to give students the opportunity to learn the joy of giving. She sponsored a similar program in area schools. FUMC adopted the program and named it in Lucretia’s honor and now memory. In addition to choosing gifts for their parents, they also may choose a gift for themselves.
In addition to the money donated by Xi Alpha Delta Rho, members of the sorority: Candice Eaves, Mindy Henson, Jennifer Jones, Kristi Stone also served as Santa’s elves and put gifts in Christmas bags lined with festive tissue paper.
What a blessing the ladies of Xi Alpha Delta Rho are for helping with this special project making Christmas truly the most wonderful time of the year. Seeing the joy in the children’s eyes allowed all those involved to experience the true meaning of Christmas.

Office Manager Maria Harkness was introduced next. She is dedicated to providing the most reliable loan services to all of their clients. Thrifty Loans offers payday loans, title loans and installment loans for your needs. Each loan has different terms and advantages so it is important to find the one that is right for you.
