“Easter Moments -- Words of Wisdom” by Joan Garrett

March 29, 2024 - As the month of March ends, the last day (March 31) will be Easter Day this year. In most cases it is now called Resurrection Day with many activities leading up to it to celebrate. I have always known it as Easter Egg Day. The eggs are purchased, boiled, colored, and hidden for kids and sometimes many adults helping to find them. I laugh when several eggs cannot be found because the person who hides the eggs forgets where they are. Adults participate especially if the golden egg has money inside. These days, plastic eggs have taken the place of boiled eggs because the price of eggs has increased. Parents have no intention of boiling and coloring eggs before they are hidden. Easter baskets or buckets are purchased so the eggs can be placed in them once found. In the past years, before the egg hunts, there was always an Easter program so the young people could get on stage somewhere to say a poem or sing a song that they have been practicing for many days in advance of the program. Can you imagine seeing them forget the words during the performance. Is that still going on?

My thoughts of thinking about the ‘EGG’ in the life of a person:

E – Energize more with exercising, walking, or cycling so your mind and body will be more productive and healthier.
G – Get up and get out to meetings, school events, city festivals, and other events or just visit friends. Plan a family vacation or reunion.
G – Get compliments when you have helped others or cared for others by volunteering your services. Enjoy the rewards of being committed and following through with projects.

Following these suggestions could prevent one from cracking the eggs of life and it will be hard to put back together.

Happy Easter!
