October 5, 2026 - (Photos Coming Soon!) - The Chicken Trot 5K had a great turnout with 160 participants brave the pending rainy weather and finish the race! Thankfully clear skies prevailed!
Runners competed for the fastest time while some were challenging themselves to cross the finish line in their first 5K. Besides the 160 registered participants there was an unknown number of unregistered participants who just came for the practice.
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event. A total of 200 participants signed up for the Chicken Trot.
Proceeds from the 5K supports the charitable giving of the Rotary Club of Center whose service project this year includes improvements to a local park. Past service projects included ADA playground equipment installed at Portacool Park, installation of new carpet in the Redditt Room at the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library, books for elementary kids in Shelby County, and wheel chair accessible raised garden beds for area nursing care facilities.
