4-H Kids Cooking with Science Day Camps to be Offered

June 18, 2019 - Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service - Shelby County will be hosting their annual 4-H Kids Day Camps featuring “Cooking with Science” during July in Center, Texas. This program is open to all youth ages 9 through 18, and you do not have to be a member of 4-H to participate.

Kids Healthy Cooking Camp will be held July 29 – August 1 from 9am – 12pm and 1pm – 4 pm (select one time slot that works best with your schedule). This year we are featuring “Cooking with Science” to focus on the connection between science and food. We will be making culinary delights using fruit, grains and proteins.

Participants will have fun learning cooking skills while conducting science experiments to determine energy, pH, sugars and magnetism. Cost is $25 per child, class is limited to 16 participants each session, and registration in advance is required. All supplies and food will be provided.

For registration information for either camp, please contact Tera at 936-598-7744.
