August 30, 2025 - The 45th Annual Garrett Family Reunion is this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, August 30-31, 2025 in Center, Texas at the Burning Bush Venue located at 1229 Southview Circle.
The Garrett Family Reunion is the gathering of the descendants of Isom (1883-1954) and Isabella (1884-1955) Garrett and is no small event as the family boasts being one of the largest families in the area. On January 18, 1922, the East Texas Light and Champion published in reference to the Garretts, “Shelby County no doubt holds some kind of record when it comes to large families.” According to the Longview News Journal, 21 May 1930 issue, Isom Garrett has "the largest family in that portion of the state."
