'All Smoked Up' Cook Team Soaks Up Repeat Victory at Grill Fest

March 19, 2016 (Photos by Scott Flowers, Cooking Awards Ceremony Photos, Album1, Album2) - Out of 16 cook teams, 'All Smoked Up' from Jacksonville, Texas with head cook Oley Willis took the overall grand prize award for the second year in a row, Grand Champion of Grill Fest. Reserve Champion of Grill Fest honors went to Smokin' lil Red BBQ from Whitehouse, Texas with head cook Brandon Robertson.

The two teams earned the most points in the barbecue cook-off which is sanctioned by the Lone Star Barbecue Society. Debra Chandler, the representative for the Lone Star Barbecue Society tallied the points and helped City of Center Mayor David Chadwick and City Manager Chad Nehring present the prize money and trophies.

The winners of the 42 Tournament were Don Lovell and Royce Johnson who also took home the winning trophy in 2015. The team defeated Bubba Bush and Cecil Jackson who received Sombreros gift cards for 2nd place. (42 Tournament Bracket)

Team Josh which was Josh McAdams and Josh Jones were the winners of the washer tournament. They defeated the second place team, Jesse Teske and Chance Shoop. (Washer Tournament Bracket)

The Shelby County Grill Fest awarded over $6,500 in prize money. The event was presented by Farmers State Bank, gold sponsor was Tyson Foods, and the entertainment sponsor was the Windham Civic Center.

4th place - Up in Smoke from Bullard, Texas. Head cook was John Paine.
5th place - Stuck Pig BBQ from Carthage, Texas. Head cook was Jim Suchy.
6th place - Midnight Smokers from Tenaha, Texas. Head cook was Joshua Campbell.
7th place - All Smoked Up from Jacksonville, Texas. Head cook was Oley Willis.
8th place - Shoop Financial from Center, Texas. Head cook was Chance Shoop.
9th place - Tyson Foods from Center, Texas. Head cook was Brandon Davis.
