'All Smoked Up' Wins Grand Champion of Grill Fest, 42 & Washer Pitching Champs Announced

March 21, 2015 - (Album1, Album2, Album3) Cook team 'All Smoked Up' from Jacksonville, Texas with head cook Oley Willis took the overall grand prize award, Grand Champion of Grill Fest. Reserve Champion of Grill Fest honors went to Team Rage from Rusk, Texas with head cook, Braun Cyr.

Seven teams competed Friday night for the title of the Grill Fest Champs in the '42 Tournament'. Two teams returned Saturday for the final round of play-off. Don Lovell and Royce Johnson took home the trophy after a close battle with the 2nd place team Gary Grubbs and Jason Liker. (42 Tournament Bracket)

Washer Pitching competition was tough Saturday with 10 teams playing for the title of Grill Fest Washer Pitching Champs. At the end of the day, Grill Fest Chairperson Kim McElroy announced the winners to be Rusty Jones and Jacob Best. Jones and Best cliniched the title after defeating team Drew Pattillo and Caleb McGill in the final round. (Washer Pitching Bracket)

Ten cook teams overall competed in five categories: beans, dessert, chicken, pork spare ribs, and brisket. The following teams rained supreme:

Chicken Cooking Category Winners:

3rd place, ($500) - Up In Smoke from Bullard, Texas. Head cook was John Paine.
4th place - Bayou BBQ from West Monroe, Louisiana. Head cook was Benjy Lewis.
5th place - Farmers State Bank from Center, Texas. Head cook was Joey Lawson.
6th place - Midnight Smokers from Tenaha, Texas. Head cook was Joshua Campbell.
7th place - Git'cha Creek Country Cookers from Rusk, Texas. Head cook was David Chandler.
8th place - Shelby Savings Bank from Center, Texas. Head cook was Will Lucas.
9th place - Uncle Willy’s Redneck Mafia from Hemphill, Texas. Head cook was Tommy McGee.
10th place - 3 B Bar B Que from Center, Texas. Head cook was James Bridges.
